BOOK GALLERY:

In this section, you will find all of my written (and unwritten) works. Fair warning, I've taken a lot of these offline and unpublished them because I wrote them when I was about 13 - young and impressionable. Not all of them however; some I quite like, but are more serious and fantasy based. If you want to read any of them, you'll find the ones marked with a '*' on the website Wattpad under the name 'ak_lloyd' or 'alex_chloe_0100'
'PROMISING MISFITS'

Parker is a guy who’s used to being alone. His rich father has no time for him and his dead mother has no voice for him. And, like any other in his position, Parker is afraid that everyone else in his life will be the same. So he makes a game out of school; on the first day of each new school he goes to (a new one every year) he makes himself… unattractive. Unwanted. Ugly. Well, only to those who see the surface and only the surface. So Parker knows who he can trust; no one. The girls that flirt with him when they find out how perfectly chiselled his face is? The guys that laugh with him when they find out how strong his body is? The people that all judge him because of how he sounds, how he dresses or how he acts on the first day of every new year? No, I didn’t think so either. Well, this was how he saw everything at least until he meets Lena. A kindred heart, a lovely smile and eyes that would have shined like the stars in the sky if they were not covered in a milky sheen to rid her of feeling like everyone else. Lena, unlike everyone Parker had met, comes to like the ridiculous boy he poses as on his first day, and comes to know his personality, because she cannot judge him at all. She is blind, and Parker is love-struck. But will she turn around and judge him when she finds out who he really is? Will she appreciate the fact that Parker lied about who he was, because of her?

Will he take her for granted?

'THE GAME'

A sick, sick game set up by the minds of some sick, sick human beings; that's what this is. That's what my life is. It's become some play thing for a group of beings who call themselves human by turning us into 'monsters'. Well, some of us. Let me explain: Roxby Downs - my home town - consists of a population of around 5000 people. Half of which have been brutally infected with a virus that morphs them into something that's not human; something that can't control its need to kill. Setting half of the population free onto the streets with the rest of us cowering away in the corners of our homes and shops, the Council of our town sits back and enjoys the little game they've inflicted upon us. Me and my family, all alone in our home, forced to act out and kill the people who we once knew as our friends. As survivors who know that our brother is aiding the government of Australia to look our way and stop this monstrosity of a disgusting game, my brother and I are forced to retreat from our family shop as it is blown to bits, injuring our mother physically and paining our father mentally. With no one else to protect them, we send them to a secured base where they will be protected. And as for us? Well, we're going to protect each other, aren't we? Because in the end, what other choice do we have? Wielding weapons that inflict pain and death like nothing I have ever read in a book before, I've not got the pages of such a thing to protect me from what's happened to me, and knowing that this isn't part of some book that I can shut when it gets too much, I back my brother and myself as we fight to reassure each other that nothing is more important than knowing that, no matter what situation you're in, you'll never be alone. Not unless you want to be.

'LET'S TALK ABOUT YOU AND ME'

I wasn't smart. I wasn't spoiled. I wasn't perfect. I was more 'arrogant', or 'sarcastic'. What's funny is that I didn't really care.

Until I got the letter.

My family consisted of the only people I was really myself around, and when they were taken away from me, I didn't know what to do with myself. I was on a plane to meet my condescending aunty within the week, and was starting at a new school within the month. Confidence was something I hardly knew how to use anymore, and the good things I knew about myself became my flaws as I got caught up in the wrong crowd.

Something was going on. Something strange, something I didn't know I was caught up in the middle of. And, as it turned out, using my 'flaws' was the only way I was going to get out alive.

Do I appreciate this? Yes.

Do I like this? I don't think so.

The Shadowing Towers (garogier).jpg

'THE SHADOWING TOWERS'                                      *

Regan Dare is the last in his family’s blood line and keeping his family’s name up and active isn’t as simple as it may seem when you live in a world like his. Instead of houses, everyone in the Province of Peace and Love have singular rooms in the tall buildings they call the Lacum. Completely coincidental that it means ‘dungeon’ in Latin.

There are four different Provinces in the land of Mayleria, and each is for a different purpose. The Province of Peace and Love is that in which Regan takes refuge, the last in his name. His family are gone; they escaped from a Ripper raid and never returned. But that didn’t discourage Regan to follow in their footsteps.

Fighting for the freedom of not only his Province, but all other Provinces, Regan campaigns against the Rippers and puts together a small group of other rebels that wanted the same thing that he did; freedom. But at what cost will this come to Regan’s new rebellious friends, and will Regan Dare succeed in his mission?

'THE HUNTER AND THE HUNTED'                         *

Living in a Palace sounds like the best life you can go for, right? Endless food, comfortable hospitality, wide space; and who wouldn't jump up at the opportunity to live in the same building as the fairly young and wealthy King? Well, not our Keely Gordon, that's for sure. Keely grew up in the Palace, working as a servant since she was young; she shared a mutual hatred with the King. He did, after all, kill her parents when she was young, which was what forced her blade across his throat.

Knowing that the King's brother, who has become the new King, was coming after her, Keely fled to the Forbidden Woods, where she seeked the company of other outcasted creatures and beings alike that wanted the same thing that Keely had delivered; the King's blood at the edge of a blade. Meeting new friends, new enemies and a whole new power on the verge of ruining everything, Keely faces more than a servant ever should have to in order to, not only keep herself alive, but to keep her country alive.

But what will be the cost of pulling such a feat, and will she succeed in becoming Amaine's saviour or will she be its destruction?

'THE WAITRESS'                                                              *

Kaely Monsford was a quiet girl, out of school and working a job at a cafe at 20. Being an orphan, life was bound to be hard, but she made it work. She kept surviving.

Until one afternoon, when four seemingly regular guys pranced into her life like they were sent right to her. They were quiet, nervous and extremely suspicious. Of course, Kaely didn't think anything of it until she got ambushed on her way home from work that same night.

All of a sudden, Kaely found herself thrust into a life on the run from everyone around her; man, woman and child. Her face became something to be recognized and her new companions didn't help with her problem.

So, what's Kaely up to now?

And why is she on the run?

'THE RISE OF DAWN'

Ryder Highmore was your ordinary blacksmith's apprentice. He would work with his father in the shop all day, and all night, he would dream about Dragons. Dragons, however, were 'extinct' in the land of Kayotn; all wiped out by the legendary Dragon Slayers of myth. They were simply fables and fairytales now, that parents would read to their children before bedtime.

But Ryder wasn't expecting his father's blacksmith to burn down to the ground merely days after a warning note came into his hands about the very tales that put him to sleep when he was a child. Telling of the return of a mighty dragon everyone knew of as Dawn the Undefeated, Ryder is soon thrust into a world where peril and chaos was just waiting to happen.

Rising from the grave to resurrect his brothers and sisters, Dawn is out for revenge on those who drew his kind from existence in the first place. When they rise, they will wipe Kayotn of the human race altogether. In a land where there is no mercy, Ryder is set on a dangerous quest to stop Dawn from rising and to rid Kayotn of all Dragons and other foul beasts alike until his home was safe again. Joined on the road by an unlikely friend and a strange girl, Ryder Highmore would do whatever it takes to succeed in his quest and live up to his anscestors' names.

To become a true hero.

'THE DARK SIDE'                                                             *

Cecily has never lived an ordinary life, being a Warlock. Who would? Her parents are dead, she doesn't know who to trust, and the only family she has left is her eight year old brother Kai. But even though Cecily is seven years older than her brother, she would do anything it takes to save him from harms way, and if that means stealing from other people for food and water, well, she'd do it without hesitation.

But when one thing goes wrong and Cecily is torn away from her brother's side, nothing else but her brother's safety matters to her any longer. She knows that no-one can be trusted, but she can't do this on her own; she needs all the help she can get, even if she doesn't want to admit it.

Encountering Angels who aren't good or bad, Demons who can be trusted and odds like no others, can Cecily save what really matters most to her, or will the world she lives in be too much for her to take?

'UNDERSTATING MAGIC'

Being recruited into an agency is bad enough, but how about a magic agency where you get to kick ass with awesome powers? Yep; magic existed, and at first, Aria Gray didn't want to believe it. She didn't want to think that the world she knew was all just a big lie, and she didn't want to leave her friends behind. But that all changed when young Jay Abel and his older brother Parker showed up at Aria's door, crushing her perfect image of the world with three simple words. 'Magic is real.'

Now thrust into a secret agency for people just like her, Aria is pulled away from her old life, trained to be an emotionless fighter with the power to call upon the elements of nature to aid her. Like when the fire station burned down, that was Aria's fire. When the aquarium flooded, that was Aria's water. When a shot of electricity struck the ocean and sunk a ship, that was Aria's lightning. But her new job was much more fun than sinking ships; she got to use magic to save the world from the sorcerers who wanted to show the world what it really is. Which was why Aria was so keen to keep this secret to herself. Because it ruined her.

Her job was fairly straight-forward; kick the bad guy's arses, go home and sit back with Jay and Parker - her partners in the job. But this time, something bigger was calling. Something they might not come back home from in order to celebrate. Two psychotic twins at the age of 32 have broken loose from the magic-bound jail they had been kept in and now they're out for revenge. And when two crazy men that share not only the same ugly features but also the same lust for blood want revenge, they're going to get it, no matter the price. Forced into action, Aria and her partners in crime must stop the evil twins before they rampage the city with their magic and kill everything in their path, including the people Aria once knew and loved.

But when the final showdown comes, no-one will ever be the same again.

'THIS IS MY TOWN'                                                    *

Vampires? Eh. They tear each other's throats out for fun, but that's part of death. Well, unless you're dying in Montilo. It may sound like a flash city in Italy, but it's not in our time. It's in the time of change.

Everyone morphs by the time they're ten into a Vampire or a Nonsept. Vampires? Pretty straight forward; they grow fangs and tear throats out. Nonsept? A little harder. They're the abandoned. If the change into a Vampire malfunctions somehow, their souls are taken and they are Nonsept, void of all emotions and willpower. You do NOT want to encounter a Nonsept.

Many people live in Montilo only because it gives them what they need. But there is a monster here, who feeds on the fear of others. A Vampire, if you will. But not an ordinary one.

What happens if you throw others in that want exactly what everyone else does? Let's say... three others, who have nothing in common at all? Put them in and what do you get?

I guess you'll just have to find out.

'FROM THE ASHES'                                                      *

Adrana was a country home to a very special kind of species. The Keeri weren't like Humans, Elves or the Yaasma. They were unique, in the way that most of them had two souls instead of one. Usually, this wasn't a problem, but when it came to Quinton Mattos, it was bigger than a threat of war.

Quin was, as far as he knew, a simple orphan with no intention of being noticed. He kept to himself, and only left his hideout if he needed to. By doing this, he kept out of trouble and it suited him well. What he didn't know, however, was that his second soul had a completely different outlook on life. But this was the least of his problems.

Following an amazing discovery, Quin's destiny becomes entwined with that of six others, none of which have anything in common. With a new race on the rise - a race unlike any other - Quin and his new group of peculiar 'companions' are destiny's hand-picked heroes, and the only ones that can stop this new threat from destroying the world.

Can they set their differences aside long enough to fix the broken, or will their differences aid the destruction of the world?

'THE CALM AND THE STORM'                                *

Atticus Deane was just a boy; a broken, misguided boy. It was an accident; no one told him how to play life's game. He had to make up his own rules, but where did that get him? In an abusive relationship with his older brother and all his bad friends. That wasn't what he bargained for.

But Atticus left that life behind; he was rebuilding a new apartment and doing the same with a new life. Well, trying. Atticus and his brother never got along after their parents left. He never spoke a word to his brother if it weren't mean and cruel, which was why a request to join in on his big brother's 'fun' and 'games' was a surprise to everyone, much less himself.

But when things are taken way too far, Atticus is suddenly running and ends up at the doorstep of an unusual compound that sparks something in his instincts. Taking refuge away from the poison of others, Atticus knew that he couldn't hide forever, but he'd do anything to be left alone so he didn't have to hide anymore.

Unfortunately he wasn't the only resident in this newly-found dwelling, because this newcomer wanted the exact same thing that he did.

'CALUMNY FAMILIES'

Three mystic families. Not related in blood, but in magic. They all have so much in common, but haven't even met each other yet. Little do they know that things are about to change, and it's not going to be in their favour. The ghost world is waking from its deep slumber, and the Queen of the Ghosts is furious with the fact that she died in grade ten because of her school teasing her of weight and her appearance. With a new look, young Katarina is back with a new body, a new face and a new thirst for blood. Everyone's blood. That's where the Calumny Families come in.

Young fourteen year old Jaide Black and her twin brother Jack are the fearless children of the famous Ghost hunters Isabel and Simon Black, and together, they make the first of the three mystic families.

Young fourteen year old Ashton Jones and his twin sister Ayla are the courageous children of the famous Ghost hunters Emaline and Justin Jones, and together, they make the second of the three mystic families.

Young fourteen year old Dawn Smith and her twin brother Daniel are the daring children of the famous Ghost hunters Scarlett and Amos Smith, and together, they make the third of the three mystic families.

On a quest to restore their home town to the way it was, the six teenagers part ways with the six adults, and together, they venture out to stop the Queen of the Ghosts before she uses the undead spirits against them to kill humanity. But how would six young, unexperienced Ghost hunters be able to save the world from destruction, you ask? Well, not dying would help to get them started. After that, they're on their own.

Beware. The ghosts are coming.

'THE LINES ETCHED ON HER SKIN'

The unbalanced scales may be throwing you off. 'Do they mean equality, maybe?', you wonder. Well, no. They mean exactly the opposite. This is a story of a girl I met at school. We were seventeen at the time, and it was clear as soon as I saw her that she had issues. No, she didn't have issues. Everyone else did, with her. No, she was perfectly content with her life until the day she decided to man-up. Things just crumbled from then, for both of us. She was just... she was different. If she saw how I looked at her, how I saw her before I moved on, before I left her, things would be different. We would talk more, we would see each other more often. I would still know her.

I'm getting ahead of both of us. Sorry. This may all seem very confusing to you, as it was to me. The cover reflects the story quite well, actually, that will become clear at the end of our journey. Or you may have already guessed what it's about. If that's the case, I want to ask you one favour. Don't skip to the last page, like you do with every other novel. Don't skip ahead, just to see what happens. I don't want that last page to ruin you like it ruined me.

So, shall we get started? It all started with an argument actually, one that I still remember as if it happened only yesterday.

I would do anything to forget it.

'MR. INVISIBLE'

"Mr. Invisible, Mr. Invincible, tell me why you're so despicable. Mr. Invisible, oh Mr. Invisible, tell me, won't you dare?"

Harmless, headful rhymes belong to harmful, headless people. Oh, but this is no person. Mr. Invisible has everything any other would need to be classified as such, yes. Although, he IS missing an identity and left his head somewhere along the shore with it.

Would you bother if the shadows came knocking at YOUR door?

Be careful in the dark. It can take you too.

'THE BLACK FROST'

This book doesn't have a description yet (hasn't been started).

Right?

'COLD HEARTS'                                                               *

In a world of magic, The Isles hides away 6 Elemental Kingdoms, each home to people made of the same magic Source as their homes. For example, the people in the Kingdom of Light would be made of light magic as their Kingdom is too, and the people of the Grasslands would be made of grass or dirt as their Kingdom is made of it. It was their own source of power, their source of life.

In the Ice Kingdom lives a Prince, heir to the throne once his father dies. And in the Fire Kingdom dwells a dangerous woman, a Princess of flames. And, one day, their fates collide. When a plot to kill someone very important goes haywire, Elurra isn't surprised when he finds out that the Fire Princess was behind it all.

Now, he must work as her enemy in order to save his own Kingdom and every other Kingdom in The Isles from destruction before she demolishes them all. Not knowing who to trust anymore, the Prince of Ice relies on his willpower alone, and his desperate need to save his family from the terror that was the Fire Kingdom.

But what he was really saving them from was something a lot closer to home than he thought...

'DARK SOULS'

A spin-off story from the world of 'Cold Hearts' calls on the Core Elements of Light and Shadows to guide the Princess of all things light and the Prince of all things dark to their true destiny; an alliance.

The Kingdom of Light and its opposition, the Shadow Kingdom, have always hated one another. Perhaps its because they're opposites, and thats what they've been told to do by their great grandparents as they progress through life. Or maybe its because they hurt each other in the same ways, even if they mean no harm.

During the plot of 'Cold Hearts', learn what was going on outside their stage by following the story of two Kingdoms divided by their hates and desires, but not knowing which was which. Follow the hearts of two opposite souls, as they learn what it is to love and be loved again; as they learn what it is to be free again, to use their voices not as a weapon, but as a tool.

Because, as they say; a word is silver, but silence is gold.

'IF WE MET'

The ultimate fan-fiction; have you ever wondered what it would be like if the books you read came to life? Or, better yet, if you were thrown right in the mix with it? Well, this book brings all that to life, with more twists than you can count. 16 year old Alex Gideon was in love with her books – reading was all she did. And she wanted what every other reader wanted too; for these books to come alive. And she got her wish alright, just not in the way she imagined.

With strangers that throw tables, a boy that jumps through ‘lightbulbs’ and a portal gun that has a mind of its own, Alex has to deal with being away from home in a way that no one else has ever had to cope with before. She is taken through different dimensions, into the worlds of her favourite books all in order to save her own reality from destruction. With the help of all her favourite characters, can Alex pull herself together long enough to stop the fear and bring everyone home?

And will she cope, meeting all her favourite heroes? Or - embarrassingly enough - will that be the hardest part?

'MY LITTLE MURDER'                                                *

Liv Winters had an unstable past; since she was fifteen, her home had been a hospital, where she slowly recovered from the things that haunted her nightmares and dreams. But that all changed the moment she was let out. Moving into a new house with her alcoholic mother and her supportive brother, Liv now has to face challenges like none she ever had to deal with in hospital: human interaction.

Now, Ryelan Montgomery, or 'Rye' was considered her new school's God student; everything he was expected to be and more. Smart, sexy, bad, fun, sexy - he was all of these things. Anyone he wanted, anyone at all, he already had. One glance, one touch, one lingering kiss; that's all it took. His mother and father travelled a lot, leaving him a lonely soul in his own house. But someone like him couldn't settle down; it just wasn't in his nature. Liv, though, catches his eye.

Is it her long, wavy hair? Or her soft, pink lips? Or maybe it's those haunting eyes of hers, the kind that leave eternal scars? Whatever it its, he's hell-bent on finding out who she is and why she pushes everyone away from her. Out of care or boredom, not even he knew; all he was sure of was that he could get to anyone he wanted, anyone at all.

Especially the least expected.

'THE IRONY OF SPACE'

In the distant future, where teleportation was as ancient as Emperors and weapons were made of energy, Jaylah Kaedn was a very dangerous criminal mastermind wanted across the whole Galaxy for treason and mass murder. The story changed when she told it, so much that not even she knew the truth of whether she committed the crime or not. The fact was simple; she was being hunted, and nothing was going to stop her apprehension.

Being transported to the most secure prison in existence was the least of her problems. Once inside, enemies would be made and threats would be received, all in attempt to scare her into submission. But she wasn't so easily swayed.

High Foli Prison was home to another clever mind, one that didn't like the spotlight as much as Jaylah. With tattoos covering his body and a mysterious way of thinking at play, Jareth Crux was Jaylah's polar opposite, despite their very similar mindset. Murderers and thieves alike would part like butter to a knife wherever he walked, and he spoke to no one, unless they had something he wanted. Everyone steered clear of him, and Jaylah would have done exactly the same. There was only one problem.

She shared a cell with him.

With her cocky attitude and the confusion towards her crime, Jaylah would be lucky to ever see her home again. Fortunately for her, doors were starting to open and opportunities were being presented in an endless flow of freedom that she could not have imagined in her entire life.

So, will she open her eyes to see the seed life is offering her or will she fall prey to Jareth's dangerous games just like everyone before her? Or will her own game be enough to draw her cell mate in before it's too late?

'RUBIES ARE RED'

Three brothers. Two weeks. One girl. Now, don't jump to conclusions; I know what you're thinking.

But you've only got it half right.

Blake Bines was considered to be the school's 'bad girl', in the sense that she was a bitch, if only to survive. She cared nothing for what anyone thought of her, and that was what caught the eyes of those she was trying to get away from.

Enter the brothers.

Seth, Reese and Jared Millstone were all different, yet completely the same. Jared was the eldest, with a kind of dark, brooding air about him. But he knew how to have fun, I'll assure you of that. Reese was the second eldest, and had the cocky, bubbling side of the family. He was unusually kind when the situation darkened, but most of the time everyone wanted to shoot him. Seth was the youngest, making the brains and the humour of the boys, and knew how to get things done. Despite their similarities, all three brothers had the same crystal blue eyes that made everyone melt at a glance.

Typically, everyone but Blake, of course.

When Blake's dad got pulled away from home for a job interview, things changed very quickly. Starting with the venue. Stuck in a house with three boys who she despised deeply was bad enough, but when the threats come in and everything goes downhill, you might well have a good little girl after all.

Because that's what you asked for, isn't it? Well, here you have it.

Sin (cover 2).jpg

'SIN'                                                                                    *

River Sin wasn't like other stereotypical girls her age. She grew up like her twin brother; surrounded by video games, sport and the independence she got from being distant from her father. All judgement people held towards her went straight through one ear and out the other, and she cared about no one, especially after the year she'd had. All she wanted to do was survive school and forget about it so she could get out and survive the real world.

Then the Slaters appeared, and all River Sin ever knew about her life went spiralling immediately.

Will Slater, the joker, was like a male version of herself, which doesn't surprise anyone when they become fast friends. Adriana and Tyler Slater, however, were hiding something. The gorgeous heart breaker and her tall, silent, brooding brother weren't welcoming like Will, they didn't like the attention. They didn't want to be seen. And River acted exactly the same way. Which was precisely what scared her.

Because she was hiding something too.
